A PATH TO GREEN FUTURE.
MODIFIED ASPHALT ADDITIVE
Polyurethane-Modified Asphalt
Product Description
A next-generation binder system that chemically cross-links with base bitumen to deliver high-viscosity, low-VOC, long-life asphalt mixes. It raises rutting and fatigue resistance, improves aggregate adhesion and moisture tolerance, and enables lower production temperatures for energy savings.
Key Benefits
High durability: Superior rutting resistance at high temps; improved low-temperature crack resistance.
Strong adhesion & moisture resistance: Better stripping resistance and wet cohesion.
Lower emissions & energy use: Typically allows 10–30 °C lower mixing/compaction temps.
Stable & versatile: Works with SBS/SBR or as a stand-alone modifier for dense, SMA, OGFC, and RAP-rich mixes.
Typical Performance
Softening point ↑, penetration ↓ vs. base bitumen.
Elastic recovery and MSCR improved.
High viscosity grade achievable at moderate dosage.
Recommended Dosage
2–6 % by weight of binder (optimize by lab design: PG target, traffic/climate, RAP content).
How to Use
Preheat base bitumen to the plant’s standard temperature (often lower than SBS systems).
Add modifier under agitation; shear-mix 20–40 min until homogeneous.
Quality check: Verify viscosity/softening point; adjust dosage or temperature as needed.
Produce mix (dense/SMA/OGFC/RAP) at reduced temperature; compact per job spec.
Compatibility
Works with common aggregates and anti-strip agents; compatible with RAP and WMA additives.
Packaging & Storage
200 kg steel drums or 1000 L IBCs.
Store cool/dry, sealed; shelf life ~12 months
Avoid moisture ingress.
Safety
Industrial chemical—use PPE (gloves, goggles), provide ventilation, avoid skin contact. Refer to SDS.
Ideal for highways, urban arterials, bus lanes, heavy-load zones, and long-life pavements seeking faster ROI with lower emissions.
